Default General Guidelines

Welcome to the CountyLineGaming Forums! We're a community centered on Let's Plays and video games. We're happy you decided to stop by.

Before you begin posting, please go over these General Guidelines; they reflect what we consider to be the expected behaviors of the community at large. If you have questions, contact the forum staff.

01. Be Active
The CountyLineGaming forums are a place intended for fans of videos games and Let's Play to congregate and discuss various topics of interest. Following the Posting Guidelines, we encourage all users to create threads, vote on polls, and comment on existing posts as much as possible.

02. Be Open
A forum is a place where members exchange time-shifted communications with one another. So much is obvious to anyone, but it is easy to forget that dialog is at the center of almost every user's experience. Keep in mind that any forum is going to be a place where opinions, facts, and attitudes of all kinds converge.

03. Be Constructive
We understand that you're not always going to agree with someone. However, some of the most useful conversations can come about from having informed disagreements with another party. Debate is encouraged, flaming is not.

04. Be Honest
Everyone has motivating factors for their opinions. We encourage everyone to be upfront with these motivations and express, however detailed, their honest impressions on any issue or topic. Many times, hiding or failing to express these motivating factors can lead to animosity and misunderstanding-- so why bother?

05. Be Aware
Let's Playing and digital media are at the core of this forums focus. It can be tempting to share such media with other members of the forum for whatever reason. In order to avoid adverse action against our hosting account, CountyLineGaming does not allow links to be posted to direct downloads of copyrighted files. Vulgar or offensive content will also be removed with notice at the staffs discretion; however, CountyLineGaming does not see itself as the Ministry of Truth.

Always feel free to PM an administrator if you're unsure about a link you wish to post.

Thank you again for visiting the CountyLineGaming forums. We want everyone to have a beneficial and successful experience here. Following these General Guidelines is meant to help ensure that outcome. Have fun posting!

06. Be Considerate
Everyone enjoys giving their opinions. We love to hear people discussing anything and everything on their mind, and while it's perfectly fine to start your own discussion with a personal musing or a description of your escapades, if you are taking all the viewing space, it stifles conversation. In general, if a thread or the shoutbox shows nothing but, or the majority is comprised of, your words--even after scrolling down, we ask that you step back and ask yourself if everything you have said has been necessary to post.
